SMORS Principal Configuration Analyst

Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants for a position on the Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program as a Principal Configuration Management Analyst. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.


What You'll Get to Do:

  • Plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation, such as engineering documentation and drawings, subcontractor specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
  • Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.

  • Coordinate modification records for management control.

  • Establish change orders and preparing for change authorization and documentation by internal organizations and subcontractors.

  • Review and analyzing released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

  • Collaborate with team leads in functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

  • Collaborate with Configuration, Requirements, and Risk managers on administering CM tools to include Aras Innovator, DOORS, and Atlassian Jira.

  • Control configuration items, product traceability matrices, documents, and software media, CM records, and software libraries.

  • Perform change management and status identification.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 6 or more years of applicable experience; Masters degree with 4 or more years; An additional 4 years of applicable experience may be substituted for degree
  • Knowledge of workflow process tools

  • Knowledge of software / hardware configuration, data and change management principles and in the use of configuration management tools such as Aras Innovator and DOORS

  • Self-motivated and able to effectively work with all levels of the organization

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint programs

  • Ability to obtain and keep a DoD Secret clearance is required to keep this position


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Proficiency in the use of Aras Innovator and DOORS

  • Experience with software CM tools and software management to include baseline management and auditing
