SME Microsoft Exchange Support - TS/SCI required

Subject Matter Expert Exchange Support

 

General Summary:

GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Under the I2TS 3 task order, INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOM's mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The ability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.

 

An I2TS 3 Subject Matter Expert Exchange Support (PFE Level) will:

  • Design, configure and maintain Microsoft Exchange infrastructure
  • Install and upgrade Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows Server 2012R2 / Server 2016)
  • Provide strategy for management of user mailboxes and database allocation
  • Expert understanding of RBAC Models and Rights/Permissions in Exchange 2010/2016
  • Define, configure, and troubleshoot Exchange Administrative and Routing groups as well as SMTP Connectors
  • Troubleshoot and configure DAG, CAS Arrays within a clustered environment
  • Load Balancing (hardware; Cisco, F5 or DNS) of Exchange and related technologies
  • Create PowerShell scripts for administration of Exchange 2010/2016, Office 2016, custom software implementations, and advanced troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot OS related issues
  • Troubleshoot Exchange related issues when alerted by monitoring software
  • Monitor and manage log files and disk space
  • Interface with Active Directory (AD), storage, and backup and restore staff
  • Configure and implement backup solution for Exchange infrastructure
  • Maintain a comprehensive Exchange disaster recovery plan (previous field experience required)
  • Assist in implementing message archiving
  • Perform hardware upgrades and patches (bios, firmware upgrades, etc.)
  • Update, patch and keep o/s and Exchange current with the latest available security patches
  • Interface with the vendor technical support
  • Administering, managing, processing, and provisioning enterprise email (Microsoft Exchange) on a Tier IV level
  • Provide Tier III and Tier II problem identification, diagnosis and resolution
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
  • Maintain and update Server STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) requirements to comply with DISA   standards
  • Managing roles and services, user permissions, e-mail queues, mobile messaging, and dynamic distribution groups
  • Maintaining attachment, domain and email address block lists
  • Troubleshooting issues with enterprise email
  • Resolving incidents (e.g., message/mailbox restoration)
  • Defining and implementing filtering for email systems (attachments/spam/code)
  • Opening, closing, monitoring, tracking and reporting change requests and incident tickets in an incident management system
  • Use Microsoft and third party tools to monitor and report Exchange server health metrics and statisti

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • Fundamental knowledge of MS Active Directory architecture, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols
  • Extensive knowledge with MS Exchange Server 2010/2013/2016
  • Fundamental knowledge of PowerShell tool/scripting
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain technical procedures in business terms so that customers understand
  • Ability to develop strategic customer relationships, gain trust, and respect for the team
  • Able to solve complex technical problems through sound and methodical troubleshooting

Certification(s):

  • IAT II 8570 Baseline Certification -Sec+CE or equivalent                 
  • MCSA Windows Server 2016 and must achieve MCSE: Designing and Deploying Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 (2013 may be accepted depending on experience) within 180 days from start date) 

Security Clearance:

  • TS/SCI required

Additional:

  • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
Education

High School diploma/GED with 12-years of related experience, or Associate's degree with 10-years of experience, Bachelor's degree with 8-years of experience, Master’s degree with 6-years of experience
