Senior Technical Writer

ManTech is currently seeking a Senior Technical Writer for Mission, Cyber & Intelligence Solutions (MCIS) Group in our Hanover, MD location.  MCIS is a premiere provider of cyber security, systems engineering, program protection, and advanced technical solutions to the Intelligence, Defense, and Fed-Civ communities.

 

Position Overview:

As the Technical Writer on the Proposal Development team, you will work and be responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents in support of customer RFIs, white papers, RFPs, and other supporting proposal requirements. Demonstrated experience writing on topics of cyber security, cloud storage, architecture, and maintenance, managed services, software development, software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and other IT focused areas. Experience leading a volume and working both independently and with a group is essential to this position. Strong communication skills and maintain a high degree of professionalism to consult with technical personnel and other available resources to obtain the necessary information. Maintains high quality standards and is able to meet strict deadlines.

 

General:

· Lead the technical writing team’s efforts by interfacing with project leadership to establish priorities, assure deadlines are met, and ensure compliance with proposal and company procedures.

· Oversee and conduct editing and quality assurance on proposal deliverables to ensure that content is communicated clearly and proposal processes are followed.

· Advise other authors in matters of style, syntax, and usage to improve the general quality and effectiveness of proposal documentation.

 

Required Skills:

· 10+ years writing and supporting proposals for the Intelligence Community, with a minimum of 8 years leading Technical and Management volumes for large and small IDIQs and contracts.

· Ability to support proposal efforts throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

· Support all phases and volumes of a proposal as needed.

· Responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents to support customer RFIs, RFPs, and other proposal related documentation.

· Work with SMEs to gather technical information to assist with accurate responses to RFP requirements.

· Experience or familiarity with Privia.

· Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio etc.

· Work with other members of the Business Development team to produce quality documentation in accordance with strict timelines and schedules.

· Coordinate layout and design of documents, graphics, and other content to meet customer defined format requirements.

· Under general direction, write technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity.

· Apply concepts for technical writing based on technical drawings, technical information from engineering and IT documentation, consultations with subject matter experts, and other available sources.

· Interpret IT, cyber, cloud, software, and engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer and IT related information into a compelling and compliant document.

· Research highly technical subject matter, organizes information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to meet specific customer requirements.

· Produce technical documentation for Cryptologic programs or projects developing analytic tradecraft methodologies.

 

Desired:

· Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or higher degree preferred.

· Professional Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, ITIL, Security+, etc.

· Demonstrated experience supporting past winning proposals of both large and small scales.

 

Clearance:

· Must possess an active TS/SCI w/ FSP


Qualifications

Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and eight to ten years of related (technical writing, editing) experience and supervisory/management experience.
