Senior Systems Engineer - Ballistic Missile Defense System

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation (SITE) team in Huntsville, AL.

The Senior Systems Engineer will perform radar end-to-end functional and performance analyses of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The Senior Systems Engineer will utilize large-scale complex BMDS Modeling and Simulation tools and use the results in support of MDA Ground Test and Flight Test events.

The Senior Systems Engineer will coordinate analysis activities and products with group leads, senior management, and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks. The Senior Systems Engineer will document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to internal stakeholders and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives. The Senior Systems Engineer may lead analysis teams and will serve as a mentor to less experienced team members.

The Senior Systems Engineer will perform technically challenging assignments which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our war fighters.

Required Skills:
  • 6+ years in System Engineering including system performance analysis and numerical modeling and simulation, using a high level programming language such as MATLAB, Python, Java, FORTRAN, or similar language environment
  • Any one or all: system concept trade studies, operational analysis, requirements analysis, feasibility analysis, system performance measures of effectiveness analysis (incl. technical performance measures), discrimination methods and techniques definition, EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, missiles/interceptors, ICBM / hypersonic / MRM / SRM threats, discrimination analysis, detection/tracking, or Command and Control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.)
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline.

Desired Skills:
  • Analysis experience in aspects of the Ballistic missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control (FOM, GFC), C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, counter-countermeasures, or threats
  • Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems
  • Some demonstrated team leadership experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Master's Degree in Engineering
