Senior System Engineer

More About this Role:

You will have the following job responsibilities, shared across our SE organization.

  • Translate and extend specific customer requests into project requirements that satisfy wide community user needs
  • Become expert on managed products to facilitate an understanding of how to best enhance them to meet future needs
  • Work with a diverse set of contractor and government personnel to track, manage, and resolve technical issues
  • Work closely with development staff to contribute to the identification, assessment, and integration of wide ranging technologies and advanced concepts which facilitate the development, refactoring and re-architecting of systems across different security domains in order to ensure successful migration to the Cloud
  • Conduct studies, support major reviews and demos, perform cloud, software, and technology evaluations, identify solutions, provide recommendations, and plan activities
  • Brief status and provide software demonstrations to government and community stakeholders
  • Maintain program technical baseline, including system documentation

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related subject-matter field

Experience:

  • 5  years of experience in the intelligence community or similar environment applying software products to meet customer and user needs
  • Education and Experience equivalents are considered on a case-by-case basis

Required Skills:

  • Self-motivated with creativity, team-building and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • General understanding of the Intelligence Community, including its wide user base and varied fields of specialty. Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies and guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to understand, work with, and shape the vision of customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to make critical judgement decisions and solid organization skills.
  • Experience quantifying value with the ability to make trade-off decisions.
  • Comfortable working with a diverse set of contractors and customer personnel
  • Understanding of agile development practices, including Agile Scrum. Familiarity with Agile Scrum methods and ceremonies, including Product Owner responsibilities. Use of Atlassian agile management tools, e.g. JIRA, Confluence.
  • TS/SCI Clearance with current SSBI or US Citizen clearable to TS/SCI with Poly

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Basic understanding of Java, JavaScript, and related software development environments.
  • Understanding of NRO Site Integration Standards (NSIS).
