Senior System Administrator IRES - SAFB

The Senior System Administratorsupports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research andDevelopment for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • DevelopResearch and Development (R&D) and operational prototyping requirements forthe future of the Missile Defense Space Center.
  • Workwithin the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture (MDSEA), a hybridarchitecture that will have cloudcomputing technology and noncloud components supporting the future generation of spacesystems for the Missile Defense Agency.
  • Developprototype and maintain seamless operations of multi-user computer systems,including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users andevaluates vendor products.
  • Makerecommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation andprovides backup recovery.
  • Developand monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use ofcomputing resources.
  • Setup administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuningsystem performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storagespace.
  • Supportrequired system software including: products in the Microsoft suite ofsoftware, test applications and GOTS (Government Off The Shelf) Software, andCOTS (Customer Off The Shelf).
  • Ensuresystem software installs, maintenance, break fix activities, as well asexecuting cyber security initiatives and sustainment are done in accordancewith established policies, procedures and service level agreements.

This position requires travel OCONUS approximately 10% of thetime.

This position is located at Schriever AFB, CO.

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the followingcombinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 16 years ofgeneral experience; Associate’s degree and 14 years of general experience;Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 10years of general experience.

  • Generalexperience must include 8 years directly related experience and 5 years in management or leadership roles.
  • Thecandidate must have at least one of the following certifications: Security+,Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security CertifiedPractitioner (SSCP), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) and/orCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Experiencewith SCCM, and remote administration, as well as experience with ActiveDirectory. Professional hands-on experience in design, implementation andtroubleshooting of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows ComputingEnvironments, Knowledge in/with DISA and SHB imaging standards.
  • Musthave an active DoD Secret security clearance (or must be able to obtain aninterim secret clearance prior tostart).

DesiredRequirements:

  • Experience withcommunication networks (MDACNet, DISN, SIPRNet). Experience with Linux RedHatand other operation platforms outside of Microsoft.
  • Familiar witharchitecture supporting Space Systems environments.
  • Experienceinstalling, patching, configuring and troubleshooting Windows servers andworkstations including associated peripherals.
  • Experience withDISA tool used in scanning and remediating computer system vulnerabilities.
  • Experience resolvinghardware & softwareconflicts and performserver maintenance and break/fix activities.
  • Familiarity withoperating within a virtualized environment such as VMWare.
  • DoD networkingexperience with classified data networks and strong grasp of red/black conceptsand IA compliance.
