Senior Project Manager

The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Project Manager working from a site located in the Crystal City area of Arlington, VA. The potential candidate will provide general project management and analytical support to the Physical Security Enterprise and Analysis Group (PSEAG) Test and Evaluation (T&E) program initiatives including attending review/planning meetings; developing, coordinating, reviewing, editing, updating, and performing technical and programmatic products and deliverables and providing overall general and financial support in direct support of PSEAG T&E initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities:

Candidates will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Develop project management plans, requirements documentation and reports.
  • Conduct site assistance visits to provide support to PSEAG projects.
  • Provide general support to joint service representatives as directed.
  • Attend and record minutes for scheduled meetings.
  • Record, monitor and report status of tasks and activities.
  • Process documents, data, and reports as needed to support requirements.
  • Perform liaison functions among the PSEAG, Security Equipment Integration Working Group (SEIWG) and Joint Service representatives and SPAWARSYSCENLANT representative to ensure correct and adequate documentation of projects.
  • Assist government personnel in preparing presentations, providing demonstrations, and attend scheduled meetings and conferences.
  • Provide general Financial Analysis.
  • Assist in the development and review of SOWs, Interface Control Documents and other artifacts for formatting and content.
  • Provide support to assist in coordinating tasking and activities with other joint service PSE program offices.
  • Assist government in development of and maintenance of project, configuration, risk and communication management plans and processes.
  • Project management and configuration management support to assigned (external) government or contractor support, engineering support, and software support of RDT&E initiatives.
  • Comply with and support current PSEAG/SEIWG processes, policies and practices utilizing standard operating procedures and program documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates will have the following backgrounds, experience, and qualifications:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Seven to nine years of related (technical environment) experience.
  • Two years of experience in DoD RDT&E / DoD acquisition
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage and prioritize numerous assignments
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent research skills
  • Applicant must hold an active Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information in order to perform work for this position
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the basic qualifications above, the following skills, knowledge, and/or experience would be preferred:

  • Knowledge and understanding of DoD’s Physical Security Enterprise and Analysis Group (PSEAG)
    • DoD USD for Acquisition and Sustainment
    • The DoD’s Security Equipment Integration Working Group (SEIWG)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Experience Required

  • 7 - 9 years: Related (technical environment) experience in direct support of PSEAG T&E initiatives
