Senior Principal Verification & Validation (V&V) Test Engineer


SAIC is seeking experienced professionals to join the National Security Group (NSG).  NSG provides specialized program management, engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.


NSG has openings for a Senior Principal V&V Test Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. The customer is developing next-generation of space and ground systems architectures, hardware and software solutions. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Program Office execute a comprehensive test and evaluation program to ensure the successful delivery of mission critical capabilities

  • Work with the Government to scope the work of the V&V team 

  • Prioritize, Schedule and de-conflict work based on available staff, team skills, and schedules

  • Develop and review V&V strategic planning documents that outline the approach for executing testing and V&V for the Program

  • Develop and review plans, procedures and reports for the Government led test events

  • Execute test procedures on the Government systems and record results to support report generation

  • Support the COTR review plans, procedures and reports for the Developer led test events

  • Witness Developer-executed Factory tests

  • Provide routine status on progress to the Government

  • Coordinate with the Developer to convey Deficiency Reports found in testing

  • Develop and review status reports citing progress towards closure of Government-managed requirements and user objectives

  • Coordinate and communicate concerns, issues and problems with Everest leadership and then with the Government, as necessary


  • Active TS/SCI with Poly
  • Bachelor degree
  • 14 or more years of related experience with a Bachelor degree or 12 or more years of related experience with a Master degree
  • Experience with acquisition life cycle and requirements processes
  • Experience with schedule, technical, and risk aspects of space systems and/or ground systems
  • Skilled in MS Office applications
  • Aptitude for on-site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) work
  • Effective customer engagement, interpersonal communications, writing, and briefing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
  • Support extended work hours during testing
  • Support occasional travel (minimal, if any)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in multiple phases of the life-cycle process and the systems engineering “V”
  • Experience supporting NRO Acquisition Offices, on SETA or Developer side
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) or the Intelligence Community (IC) organizations
