Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (FPGA) / Top Secret / SCI

Are you ready to join Northrop Grumman? If so, we areseeking a Principal Electrical Engineer (FPGA) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

Youwill work with engineers and program personnel as part of an integrated product development team to develop FPGA design/code for avionics products.

Job Duties:

  • RTL / VHDL Design and Implementation
  • Develop design Documentation
  • Integration, troubleshooting, and system testing
  • Verification and validation of systems to customer requirements
  • Requirements development and management
  • Interfacing with program management, customers, and customer representatives
  • Developing and presenting requirements, designs, plans,and results to customers and end-users


1. 9 Years of direct experience with a Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with aMasters; 4 Years with a PhD.

2. Minimum 7 years of experience in satellite buses, implementation, and testing

3. 4 years-experience in design of electronic circuits for use in harsh/space environments.

4.Experience with performance simulation and modeling

5. Familiarity with MicroSemi/Actel/ Family of FPGAs

6. Strong VHDL skills including Verilog and system Verilog

7. Experience working as a member of a team, collaborating effectively with an integrated team of customers, vendors, users, and co-workers.

8. Ability to work independently, on a large team, and on concurrent tasks

9. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

10. Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to articulate to the Team.

11. CurrentTS/SCI Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. CurrentTS/SCI with CI Poly

2. Familiarity with SynplifyPRO, Libero SoC, LiberoIDE, Designer, Aldec Riviera PRO.

3. Experience with multiple clock domains.

4. Experience partitioning designs.
