Responsibilities Comejoin our team! The National and Homeland Security Department at INL is lookingfor Senior Power Engineers to help lead state-of-the-art research in the areasof power testing, analysis of generation, transmission, and distributionsystems. In this role you will support the Critical InfrastructureProtections/Resilience, INL Power Management, and Mission Support Centers. Youwill provide technical direction for analytic efforts, research endeavors,technology solutions, and business development for the power research andintelligence communities, including the Department of Defense, the Departmentof Energy, and other government agencies. Your other responsibilities willinclude: Helpdevelop and implement research plans and business strategies that result insignificant growth of INL’s role in power research; assist the successfulimplementation (cost, schedule, safety, security, environmental compliance, andquality assurance) of associated projects and programs Develop and maintainactive relationships with key clients and strategic partnerships with keypartners; provide national and INL technical consultation in areas ofexpertise, and work as an effective team player with other researchers, linemanagers, relationship managers, and professional technical/administrativestaff from across the INL. Maintainhigh standards of safety, security, environmental compliance and missiondelivery; oversee successful project execution consistent with INL’s standardsand procedures | ||
Requirements: Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) "Q" security clearance Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5 years of related experience or Master's and 3 years or PhD and 2 years. Preferred candidates will have expertise in one or more of these areas: 3. Electro-MagneticPulse (EMP) test hardening and vulnerability assessments includingunderstanding Smart Grid Technologies, Renewable Integration, EMP effects,phenomenology, protection mechanisms, and coupling predictions. | ||
