Senior Mechanical Engineer



Prepares design documentation to include, but not limited to: Statements of Work, Specifications, drawings, sketches, calculations and building code references.  Performs duties as project engineer throughout the lifecycle of the project (Design through construction completion).  These duties include evaluating and recommending approval of submittals; providing technical approach assessments; developing modification packages when necessary.    

Specific Job Functions:

  • Provides project development, design and project management for U.S. Air Force facilities
  • Designs development for a variety of mission critical facilities requiring expertise in the following:  HVAC systems, HVAC controls systems, data center server cooling systems reliability, precision instrument cooling systems, plumbing systems, fire suppression systems including high expansion foam for aircraft hangers, munitions grade ultra-high-speed fire suppression systems
  • Supports Planning Department with annual BCAMP plan
  • Coordinates Asset Management Planning for fuels systems, HVAC, fire suppression systems, and fire alarm systems
  • Provides support to Operations Maintenance staff for HVAC systems, DDC control systems, indoor air quality environments, fire protection systems, and plumbing systems
  • Collaborates and coordinates with Military unit Commanders, Government Service Officials, Planners, 6 CONS Contracting Officers, Security Forces, Fire Prevention Authorities, Facility Managers, Base Maintenance staff, OPSEC personnel, Environmental personnel and Historical Preservation staff
  • Performs AutoCad design drafting in coordination with the CADD department
  • Reviews other Engineer’s design for quality
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate


  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida
  • Must be able to hold a Secret Clearance
  • Familiar with UFCs, AFIs, and ETLs
  • Think creatively and strategically
  • Ability to work in a fast pace/changing environment
  • Strong communicator with excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and write SOPs and manuals
  • Attention to detail and accuracy


  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 15-20 years’ relevant work experience, or
  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 10-15 years’ relevant work experience
