Senior Linux System Administrator

Candidate must have an active TS/SCI w/ Poly

Key Tasks:

  • Primarily responsible for providing system administration support. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software to include such activities as account set up, development of shell scripts, troubleshooting, and test support.
  • Responsible to implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
  • Sustain the production environment (40 servers).  Review and deploy IAVAs.
  • Install, configure, test and troubleshoot UNIX operating system software and the software baseline.
  • Administer and sustain Accumulo and Hadoop software baseline.
  • Provide space management - configuring and managing NiFi interfaces.
  • Position may require travel to local data centers at times

 

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Linux System Administrator, to include, but not limited to:
    • Installing/loading operating system software
    • Troubleshooting
    • Maintaining the integrity of and configuring network components
    • Installing windows manager
    • Performing BEA WebLogic administration
    • Implementing operating system enhancements that improve reliability and performance
    • Administrating multiple operating systems, including Linux, UNIX and Windows.
  • VMWare and Network design experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong leadership ability/experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

 

Desired Skills :

  • Experience providing system administration support for servers, and storage and networking components.
  • Experience with equipment staging.
  • Experience developing and using Shell scripts.
  • Security+ Certification

 

Required Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline, or an additional 3 years of relevant experience
