Senior Information Architect

Description

Join SAIC’s team in support of the missions of the USTRANSCOM Enterprise Data and Analytics Environment. This is new work to create a scalable, cloud-based Enterprise Data Environment for all military and commercial mission partners; to leverage that environment with adaptive Big Data Analytics technologies, including descriptive/predictive analytics, machine leaning & artificial intelligence; and then to transform, extend, and optimize the data environment for USTRANSCOM’s consumers and deciders.

 

Senior Information Architect designs shared information environments involving models or concepts of information. Develops data models for optimal performance in databases. Designs data structures for data interchange. Develops data standards and converts data to controlled vocabularies. Develops metadata structures including dictionaries, taxonomies and ontologies. Develops semantic data and metadata representations.  Designs information governance policies to manage risk and usage of data.

 

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Data Sciences, Mathematics, or Information Systems with minimum 8 years related experience. Other technical degrees, certifications and total experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.


Qualifications

  • US citizen, with active DoD Secret clearance.  (Viable candidates with the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance may be considered.)

  • Experience in relevant work, including data systems design, analysis, modeling, transformation, forecasting, implementation, and governance.


Desired Qualifications

 
  • Experience working with scheduling, performance, fielding, compliance with DOD IT standards, and security and accreditation.

  • Knowledge of DoD, USTRANSCOM and service component (i.e., Army, Air Force, Navy) logistics operations, transportation systems data, and experience with applicable IT technologies.

  • Applicable certifications in, but not limited to, data sciences/tools integration and support, professional or practitioner cloud (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Azure), information security/engineering (e.g., CISSP, Security +); and agile development (e.g., Certified Scrummaster, Scaled Agile).

  • Experience working in Agile methodology Scrum software development teams.
