The Army Geospatial Center (AGC) mission is to provide timely, accurate, and relevant geospatial information, capabilities, and domain expertise for Army Geospatial Enterprise (AGE) implementation in support of unified operations.

CNSP is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer who will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services, general engineering, technical operations and services in support of AGC and its customers, both in the continental United States (CONUS) and at other than continental United States (OCONUS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, maintain and operate test suites of hardware and software to ensure successful integration and exchange of newly developed geospatial data among Army MC systems including, but not limited to, the Command Post Computing Environment (CP CE), Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P), the Mounted Computing Environment (MCE) and other Computing Environments (CE) within the Army’s Common Operating Environment (COE).
  • Manage highly complex sub-system and component level hardware requirements for military National to Tactical operational geospatial systems.
  • Evaluate existing and emerging commercial and government GEOINT hardware capabilities.
  • Review and analyze highly complex geospatial and geo-intelligence system level design concepts with hardware content.
  • Provide analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of GEOINT and GIS products for Army and DOD users.
  • Conduct research and performs trade studies to support selection of highly complex GIS and GEOINT COTS hardware components and systems.
  • Research and develop highly complex geospatial and geo-intelligence hardware architectures using CAD and CAE tools.
  • Develop test strategies ansd perform stress and performance tests on a variety of GEOINT and GIS hardware, devices, and systems.
  • Perform hardware integration activities and support systems level integration and testing.
  • Verify and validate hardware designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements: Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) analysis, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) analyses or programs, Human factors Engineering tasks, and training development.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Authority:

· This position will not have supervisory or management authority

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must have an active TS clearance and be SCI eligible.
  • A Master’s Degree in Hardware Engineering, Science, Computer Science, or Related Scientific or Technical Discipline, or equivalent
  • Ten plus (10+) years of relevant or closely related  experience
  • Experience supporting Army or DOD Geospatial, Geo-intelligence or Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) related projects
  • Prior military or DoD experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent communications skills; both oral and written
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite with experience in Access, Excel, and Word.
  • Working knowledge / experience with SharePoint
  • Work autonomously with little to no supervision
  • Work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

This position is primarily performed in a secured federal office setting, a controlled office environment
