Summary:

Thesummary is an overview of the position. The Senior Electrician will install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintainvarious electrical systems, controls and equipment. Performs a variety ofelectrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair ofequipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.



Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Responsibilitiespreventive maintenance and inspection for all electrical systems and equipmentfor the facilities to include but not limited to Lighting, Electrical Systemsand Generators, Motors and Engines, and Wiring.
  • Installs,repairs or replaces, modifies, loads, and tests new and existing electricallines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls.Maintains, repairs or replaces all interior and exterior lighting systemsattached to facilities.
  • Maintains,repairs, or replaces all secondary gear to include transformers, switch-gear,circuit breaker panels, switches, receptacles, etc.
  • Troubleshootsproblem areas and inspects for defective equipment and faulty wiring.
  • Usesand maintains various types of hand and/or power tools such as screwdrivers,pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, andpipe threading machines.
  • Ensureequipment and systems are operated & maintained in the most economical andefficient manner, to produce the desired conditions in accordance withmanufacturer’s manuals and instructions.
  • Provideassembly and repair support for all electronic tasks. Tasks will include, butare not limited to the assembly, repair and testing of surveillance cameras andpreventative maintenance on most electronic components, sub-systems andaccessories. Work will include assembly of hardware, cabling, electronics,cameras, and other technically advanced components.
  • Ensureswork orders when complete are properly filled out and returned to workmanagement.
  • Supportsthe project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety,including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirementspertaining to particular trades or skills.
  • Thisposition has been designated as Mission Critical. Mission Critical personnel are defined asthose required to meet the Installation’s safety (including inclement weatherfor snow and ice control operations ) and security needs during lockdownconditions.
  • This position may be partof an emergency management/response team as required by the company to meetcontract requirements

MinimumQualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Journeyman level (or higher) licensedelectrician
  • Must have aminimum of five (5) years experience at the Journeyman level.
  • Ability to obtainHomeland Security clearance/DHS.

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • Facilitiesmaintenance experience and knowledge of required work ranging in a variety ofmaintenance and repairs.
  • Demonstratedability to troubleshoot Electronics, circuit boards, relays, and generalelectrical systems.
  • Ability to readschematics and blueprints.
  • Proficient atsoldering delicate wires and electronic circuitry components.
  • Demonstratedknowledge and ability to work with hands and knowledge of methods, materials,tools, and practices used in the field.
  • Demonstratedknowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the tradesinvolved.
  • Demonstrated skillin the care and use of the tools and equipment in the trades involved.
  • Demonstratedability to understand verbal and written description of technical work-relatedproblems (i.e. drawings, floor plans, etc.)
  • Knowledge ofsurface peculiarities and types of preparations required for differentapplications.
  • Proficient in computerprograms as required for job requirements.

  • While performing the duties of thisJob, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb orbalance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally liftand/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includeclose vision.

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
