Senior DOD Network Subject Matter Expert to support the DOD CIO within the Pentagon

Join CACI as a Senior DOD Network Subject Matter Expert to support the DOD CIO within the Pentagon.  The successful candidate will provide advocacy, policy, tech assessment, and resource (budget) recommendations to the highest levels of DOD governance processes; with specific focus on cyber defenses and information protection.  This will be an exciting opportunity to demonstrate organizational leadership and to provide oversight/guidance that shape, advocate, or remove the technical solutions developed by DISA to solve DOD’s mission requirements.   In this role, you’d review various concepts/approaches/solutions and offer expert knowledge in areas such as feasibility, effectiveness, cost, interoperability, cyber threat, threat mitigation, etc.

What You’ll Get to Do:

•Identify, assess, and develop detailed requirements from the customer for upgrading networks as well as re-architecting network segments to facilitate new requirements, technologies and growth.

•Provide client consulting and training on the use of the network capabilities.

•Lead planning and computer network initiatives.

•Act as the Enterprise Manager and oversee the management of VPN Gateways for deploying remote users.

•Research, evaluate, and recommend new computer network equipment/technologies as well as provide technical solutions that can be used to create compliance policies/memos.

•Provide solutions for remote and local security devices to include but not limited to HBSS, Firewalls, and Logging Solutions.

Required Qualifications:

•Understands DOD classified and unclassified info-sharing services/domains/enclaves:  NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, CMS, and other networks, tools, communication systems.

•Knowledge of DOD and the various players (services, components, COCOMs, etc.) that are stakeholders in the mission domains (nuclear C3, senior leader support, federal crisis response, government continuity operations, etc.) that are purviews of the customer.

•Some operational or technical awareness of the associated mission domains mentioned above.

•Working knowledge of network architecture frameworks in the following areas: SONET, BSLR, Optical MPLS, and OSP-F.

•Experience in network disciplines in the SDH/DWDM/OTN and OSI stack environments.

•Experience with IT network architectures and approaches, and thus able to assess and evaluate DISA’s solutions to the growing problem of sharing highly classified information/data and protecting that info from unauthorized access.

•Familiarity with how DISA provides and implements solutions, it’s organizational structure, and its technical processes and approaches.

•HBSS and DISA-sponsored configuration management knowledge.

•Knowledge of cyber challenges and the ability to understand various information protection methods/approaches, ability to learn and keep up with new solutions.

•JPAS profile must have active TS and show evident of SCI-eligibility.

 You must be SCI-eligible, meaning you were read-in to an SCI billet within the last 24 months.

•Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 12 to 15 years of relevant experience are required.

Desired Qualifications

•Knowledge of DODAF and DOD’s Risk Management Framework or previous DIACAP concepts.

•Knowledge of JCIDS.
