Security Administrator

Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc. Southeast Division (SED) has an immediate need for a Security Administrator in the Raleigh area. In this role you will perform daily functions in support of a rapidly growing security program on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. In this position you will assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs). Responsibilities will include personnel security, document management and accountability, administrative functions in support of the security program and assistance to the FSO as needed.

You will be responsible for processing and tracking clearance applications, fingerprint submissions and visit requests as well as tracking employee foreign travel and coordinating travel briefings as required. Additionally, you will maintain document accountability to include classified transmissions and quarterly inventories and administer the Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational & administrative skills as well as oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff and customers
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Possess the ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with the NISPOM, DoD Directive 5200.01, volumes 1-4, and ICD 705
  • Experience with JPAS, DISS, NISS, ACCS, SWFT and/or the e-Qip database system
  • TS//SCI adjudication

If you can accomplish the above, then you’ve got what it takes! We are looking at candidates with at least a High School Diploma and 6+ years’ relevant experience.

Due to the work you’ll perform and interactions with Intelligence Community and DoD programs you will need to have an Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment). Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required.
