Secure Systems Section Manager

The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Center is seeking a recognized technical leader committed to creating innovative and cost-effective system security solutions.

The Secure Systems Section Manager will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in the technical development, integration and certification of the system security solution for radar programs. This leadership position requires proficiency and experience in secure systems, such as cyber security, anti-tamper, software assurance, supply chain assurance, and/or operations security. This is a high-growth technical area and the candidate must be a self-starter that enjoys collaboration and pursuing innovative, practical solutions.

The Section Manager provides technical guidance and mentoring for his/her section members and is also accountable to programs that his /her employees support ensuring that the work products are of the highest quality and meet the program objectives.
The Section Manager reports directly to the Department Manager and will team with the Department Manager in the execution of the Center’s objectives and engineering goals.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Must have as a minimum an active secret security clearance and the ability to obtain the required program clearances
  • Experience managing (cost and schedule) systems engineering product teams within a program
  • Experience in one or more Program Protection Discipline (Anti-Tamper, Cyber Security, Supply Chain Risk Management, Software Assurance, Firmware Assurance and/or OPSEC)
  • Experience in embedded system design and development
  • Experience in using tools and metrics in managing activities
  • Familiarity with sizing engineering efforts and bidding program pursuits
  • Project management skills including project scheduling and tracking (IMP/IMS) and earned-value management
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience in embedded system design and development
  • Experience with COTS secure products
  • Experience with DOORs
  • Understanding of operation, design, implementation, or testing of RADAR, RF or Communication Systems, Electronic Warfare systems, surveillance/reconnaissance systems, or Global Position Receivers
  • Full lifecycle system engineering experience, from concept through deployment and maintenance.
  • Technical Publications and/or Patents
  • Experience performing functional management activities including staffing, conducting performance reviews and career discussions, participating in compensation discussions, and flowing communications/information from higher levels down to section members
  • Active or recent CISSP or equivalent Certification
  • Very strong demonstrated organization, coordination, planning and teaming skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at different levels of the organization
  • Qualified Six Sigma Specialist

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics
