Job Summary:
Section Manager – Electrical Engineering
The Receiver, Exciter, and Signal Processing (RESP) Department is seeking an electrical engineering leader with experience in engineering management, design, test, and integration for our Multifunction RF Systems (MFRFS) team in McKinney, TX. The Section Manager will have advanced technical knowledge in a relevant area of electrical engineering, and an understanding of the impact of this work on other areas of the organization.

The RESP Department is seeking candidates who are willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with other engineers from across Raytheon to generate and utilize today’s cutting-edge technology to create designs that implement radar systems, including receivers, exciters, radar digital control, and signal processing.

As a Section Manager, you will manage a team of 8-15 engineers working on a variety of development, production, and sustainment tasks across the MFRFS Product Line. Tasks will include resource and staff assignment planning, career development of employees, performance appraisal evaluations, developing training curricula, technical mentoring, and leadership skill development.

Other responsibilities include technical problem solving, project leadership, proposal writing, pursuing new business, managing budgets and schedules as the leader of development teams, and leading organizational initiatives. The candidate should expect to work closely with other section managers, the department manager, the program management office, senior managers, senior staff engineers, systems engineers, and other development team members.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience leading functional or cross-disciplinary teams to meet organizational goals and project needs
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in RF hardware design and integration, analog circuit design and simulation, digital hardware design and systems, FPGA or embedded software design, radar power system design, integration and test of radar hardware, and/or system architecture
  • Familiarity with electrical hardware design process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing cost and schedule

This position will require the ability to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Desired Skills:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Raytheon policies and procedures, including Raytheon Integrated Product Development System
  • Experience in line management or Integrated Product Team leadership
  • Experience with staffing forecasts and planning
  • Experience developing hardware in a DoD environment
  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation tools such as Matlab, PSpice, LTSpice, or similar
  • Experience with circuit card design in Mentor Graphics Xpedition or similar
  • Experience with Microsemi Libero, Intel (Altera) Quartus and/or Xilinx Vivado development environments
  • Experience with DoD contract proposal activities and bidding process
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems
  • Master’s degree or PHD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Active secret clearance
