This is an excellent opportunity for a scientist (or software engineer with strong scientist skills) to research, implement, and evaluate various technologies within well-defined domains. You will work with our Principal Investigators (PI) and our software team to determine the requirements of the domain, to design scientifically-based solutions, and to assist in implementing these solutions in software. You will also support evaluation of research ideas (both empirical and qualitative) and the documentation of your results in a form suitable for peer-reviewed publication. You will need to be able to quickly read and understand scientific papers, and apply previous research to create new designs, while remaining abreast of current scientific research practices.

 Major Responsibilities/Activities: 

  • Analyze and understand customer problems and issues to convert these insights into requirements
  • Pursue novel technologies to implement solutions, including establishing new areas of research
  • Support marketing in presenting and selling innovative technical solutions to potential new customers
  • Aid in the design and implementation a variety of solutions in consultation with PIs
  • Work with software engineers in developing and implementing technology solutions
  • Conduct technical discussions with customers guided by a PI
  • Contribute to proposals written by PIs
  • Contribute as an author for reports and papers, and present work at briefings and conferences when appropriate

 Minimum Requirements: 

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Factor’s Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science/Psychology, Computer Science or Software Engineering (or related filed) or related experience
  • Strong verbal and written skills support proposal writing, interaction with customers, and presentations at technical conferences
  • Demonstrated ability generate clear, grammatically correct written materials
  • Strong fit with Company goals and values (work ethic, attitude, interest in work)


  • A record of publications in any of the above field
  • Demonstrated object oriented analysis and design skills
  • Military experience
