SAS BP&S Principal Financial Analyst

The SAS Business Processes & Systems team has an opportunity for an individual to join their team.In this role, the selected candidate will co-lead the testing and implementation of the PMX ETC tool and EVMS forProject (MPM replacement) for SAS; they will also act as an SAS representative for EDIT+. Additional team activities the selected candidate may provide support to are PMX, MPM, wInsight, CART, and Program Metrics. Responsibilities include assisting financial analysts throughout the business with their use of these tools and associated processes, which may include supporting ETC and EAC development, responding to EV related questions, and assisting with program baselines and re-baselines. As the SME (subject matter expert), the selected candidate will help develop training curriculum and teach courses on an as-needed basis, in order to enable customer self-sufficiency across SAS. An ability to clearly communicate process instruction is critical. The responsibilities of this role also include acting as an SAS representative while interfacing with enterprise development teams and external support vendors. Involvement with ongoing system enhancements and acceptance testing prior to release are also part of this position’s responsibilities. As a member of the BP&S team, you will have the opportunity to become involved with other projects, as desired, to help improve the systems, tools, and processes used throughout the Finance community.

*Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of related experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management throughout multiple functions (e.g., Finance, Mission Assurance, IT, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task and respond to questions in a timely matter
  • Existing Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Willingness to problem solve and help streamline tool processes
  • Good communication skills, ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and training skills
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to gracefully handle multiple customers, attention to detail, and time management
  • Good organizational skills and ability to effectively coordinate multiple activities
  • Strong analytical skills
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

*Desired Skills:

  • Experience and knowledge of PMX, ETC tools, and EDIT+
  • Knowledge of additional BP&S supported tools (e.g., PRISM/APEX EV, MPM, CART, Program Metrics)
  • Practical experience in applications of EVMS, Cost and Schedule Integration, and EAC preparation
  • Knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel functions
  • Experience in training and/or mentoring employees

*Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline or in lieu of degree, equivalent work experience required

*Desired Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
