We are searching for an experienced Automotive Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Complex System Engineering and Monitoring Applications Engineering Department.

What YOU Will Do…

You will:  Perform code reviews and execute projects within a defined schedule; complete embedded hardware setup and configuration; conduct validation testing on embedded hardware and systems; analyze, develop, and evaluate large-scale complex systems for a range of vehicles (light to heavy duty); reverse engineer vehicular electronic systems; design, implement, test, and document Engine Control Unit (ECU) firmware; deliver quality C code in a real-time embedded environment; debug and fix issues with embedded systems and Controller Area Networks (CAN); integrate and update hardware in vehicular CAN; and interface with ECUs in vehicles.

What YOU Need to be Successful…

Education:  A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline plus at least two years of related experience.

Required experience/skills:

  • Prior experience with UART, I2C, SPI, and/or CAN bus

You will be subject to a government security investigation and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
