Requirements Analyst

Job Description

The CDM Program is managed within the DHS National Protection and Programs Directorate, (NPPD)/Office of Cybersecurity and Communications (CS&C)/Network Security Deployment (NSD) Division, responsible for enhancing the security, resilience, and reliability of the Nation’s cyber and communications infrastructure. The DHS CDM Program mission is to safeguard and secure cyberspace in an environment where the threat of cyber-attack is continuously growing and evolving. The CDM Program defends the United States (U.S.) Federal Information Technology (IT) networks from cybersecurity threats by providing continuous monitoring sensors (tools), diagnosis, mitigation tools, and associated services to strengthen the security posture of Government networks.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • You will use your subject matter expertise in requirements analysis to implement a best practices-driven requirements management process
  • Document the requirements management process
  • Solicit, develop, document and manage requirements traceability matrix
  • Accompany technical leadership on customer visits to ensure the capture of all listed and implied requirements
  • Responsible for facilitating the process to collect and define client and internal requirements
  • Provide advice and recommendations on process best practices. Performs analysis on technical systems to identify gaps.
  • Create an internal requirements tracking system in Service 360
  • Work with clients to understand and define needs and develop and recommend solutions
  • Work with teams to create appropriate use cases and user stories to test results ensuring quality product launches
  • Review system test plans and align appropriate resources for user acceptance testing
  • Review and provide input on process design work prior to requirement adoption
  • Provide accurate reporting of Agency environments while achieving successful governance of Agency cybersecurity programs.
  • Assisting Agencies to establish Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) continuous improvement (to include measurable outcomes) within the Group A Agencies in terms of Agency-specific governance
  • Assist Agencies in incorporating CDM capabilities into each Agency’s specific cybersecurity or ISCM program so that outcomes are effectively planned, implemented, and documented.  Increased and/or more efficient risk-reduction, Improved definitions of, or criteria related to, Agency risk-thresholds.
  • Identification or improved definition of Agency specific “desired states” for use within the CDM architecture in general and current
  • CDM Agency Dashboards and supporting tools and Agency machine-level policies for future automated ongoing assessment of current, applicable NIST SP 800-53 controls are met
  • Evaluating effectiveness of incorporating the CDM Solution into the Agency’s CDM governance program
  • Develop, update and submit governance documentation


More About the Role:

  • Capture meeting minutes to document and report decisions and action items
  • Create documentation of requirements for external deliverables and internal tracking system
  • Work with internal team to ensure information security, functional and interoperations requirements are captured based on new capabilities, change capabilities and analyze the effects to the solution stack
  • You will interact with government technical leadership, internal project technical leadership, engineering and information security professionals
  • Derive written technical requirements from Requests for Service and Engineering Service Request documentation


 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be clearable to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) EOD clearance. 
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience and 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with fundamental IT technologies, infrastructure platforms and software
  • Experience creating a requirements management tracking process and system
  • Prior work experience performing technical requirements analysis

  • Ability to clearly communicate design rationale and build consensus
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
  • Organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a clearly understandable written form
