TheRecords Analyst I will serve as theprimary point of contact for reference requests and conduct record inventoriesfor the Bureau of Prisons.

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Processrecord transfers and serve as a backup on Electronic Records Archives.
  • Createand evaluate records schedules.
  • Develop,maintain, and research processes to implement an effective recordkeeping system
  • Otherduties as assigned

MinimumQualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1+ years ofRecords and Information Management experience.
  • Ability to obtain BOPSecurity Clearance Eligible (Public Trust)

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • National Archives andRecords Administration Certification desired.
  • Abilityto work individually, in teams, and interact in a tactful manner with theGovernment staff.
  • Abilityto communicate fluently in English and understand and follow procedures.
  • Demonstratedability to:
    • Dealsimultaneously and calmly with several crises
    • Determinethe relative importance of each
    • Recognizeimportant users of the service and to accord to them priority attention
    • Discernthe true nature of problems from imprecise descriptions
    • Referproblems to the proper individuals for resolution.

  • While performing the duties of thisJob, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb orbalance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally liftand/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision.

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
