Quality Assurance Engineer II

Summary: Raytheon Secure Information Systems (SIS) produces the highest security encryption products to protect classified data and computing resources from cybersecurity attacks. With more than 100 NSA certified products, SIS solutions protect warfighter communication over land, sea, air and space.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE). This position is responsible for all Mission and Quality Assurance aspects of product realization on assigned Programs within SIS. The QAE will ensure that customer expectations and end-user objectives are satisfied, while ensuring the execution of Raytheon processes and procedures. The QAE also drives continuous improvement developing solutions that mitigate program risk and realize opportunities.

The QAE will work closely with the Operations and Program Management, they will engage on both a tactical and strategic level, focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement on new pursuits, and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.


The successful candidate will be responsible for quality of delivered products and services to the Customer, management of Quality risks, uncertainties and opportunities, leadership in resolution of high-visibility program issues and successful management of Customer expectations and relationships related to Mission Assurance and Quality. The successful candidate will need to have knowledge in Program, Hardware and Supplier Quality areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Support SIS Inspection
  • Monitor and report on Program compliance to AS9100
  • Provide input for Proposals
  • Review and approve Customer and Supplier Purchase Orders for Quality Requirements
  • Review and approve Program Drawings
  • Monitor and report on Quality Activities at Contract Manufacturers
  • Review and approve Work Instructions and Traveler/Routers
  • Support SIS Receiving, In-Process and Final Inspections
  • Manage Non-Conforming Material
  • Produce metrics and reports on the Quality of Program products and process
  • Supplier engagement is required; must be willing to travel locally to major suppliers to support hardware selloffs and process/product improvement planning

Required qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering role
  • Experience with Quality systems, ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102
  • Experience with Flight/Space products
  • Experience with Supplier Quality Assurance and working with Contract Manufacturers
  • Must be able to obtain and retain DoD Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required


Desired qualifications:
  • Certified Quality Engineer Certificate
  • Certification in IPC-A-610
  • Certification in IPC J-STD-001
  • Working knowledge of SAP/PRISM/VM Quality transactions
  • Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist qualified, or demonstrated Specialist-level skill
  • The ability to communicate effectively to team members, management and customers


Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or related work experience. Note: In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, candidate may also possess an Associate's degree with 6 years related experience or High School Diploma with 10 years of related experience.




U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons
