QA Test / Customer Support Specialist

Overview

 

Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) S2IPT supports DoD and Navy information technology to design, develop, engineer, and maintain systems that will improve customer organizational efficiency.
 
The QA Test / Customer Support Specialist will be a valued scrum team member. He or she will be challenged with a variety of tasks throughout the Agile software development lifecycle in order to increase his/her breadth of software quality assurance and customer support.
Responsibilities
  • Providing services related to enterprise systems technical QA, review and system testing/validation activities
  • Utilizing knowledge of software development and testing best practices in a DoD enterprise and ensuring their application
  • Reviewing product requirements and test plans to ensure proper test coverage of new features
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and contributing to the automated test library and infrastructure
  • Writing and grooming automated and manual test cases to assure effective use of testing resources
  • Manual test case execution
  • Failure triage and reporting
  • Demonstrating the ability to break down testing approach of a complex system
  • Expertise will be applied to existing and developmental IPT systems to aide IPT development staff in highlighting obstacles and path toward successful systems integration actions
  • Working with customers/employees to identify computer problems and advising on the solution
  • Logging and keeping records of customer/employee queries
  • Analyzing call logs to identify common trends and underlying problems
  • Updating self-help documents to enable customers/employees to fix problems themselves
  • Visiting customers/employees to evaluate/understand the extent of the problem
Qualifications

 

Requirements (education/experience/certifications):
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a Government background investigation for Public Trust
  • 4-8 years of professional technical work experience
  • Certification related to IT, software engineering, software development, or testing
 
Preferences (education/experience/certifications):
  • Active, interim, or recent DoD SECRET clearance
  • Degree in Computer Science, Project Management, or related field
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated tests using testing tools (e.g., Selenium, HP Quick Test Professional)
  • Experience with SmartBear TestComplete is a plus
  • Basic scripting skills in one or more languages
  • Comprehensive understanding of how web systems work
  • Demonstrable triage and troubleshooting abilities
