Job Description

ASRC Federal is actively seeking a QA/Test Analyst to join our team and support a government client in Denver, Colorado.

RESPONSIBILTIES

 

The successful candidate will support a major software development effort by providing independent assessment and validation of test strategies, plans, and results to ensure the software being developed or configured meets the defined business requirements and overall business needs. Additionally, provide guidance on improving test management and test coverage improvements opportunities. A solid understanding of Agile Development processes, Requirements Traceability, full lifecycle testing methodologies, and the ability to provide clear and concise documentation on test analysis are keys to success. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Review test strategies, plans, and results provided by software development team.

  • Validate that software developed/configured meets established business and system (aka functional and non-functional requirements)

  • Document findings (successes, failures, deficiencies) and provide guidance for test process improvement.

  • Provide an independent assessment of testing methodologies applied by the software development team with the goal of providing the best product possible to the customer.

  • Provide estimates on level of effort needed to provide QA/testing activities, per approved requirements

  • Facilitate test process meetings.

  • Provide general business analysis support (requirements elicitation and documentation) as requested by the analysis team

NOTE: While hands-on running of manual or automated test cases is not a primary responsibility of this position, some hands-on testing may be performed.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree -- Computer Science or Technical degree preferred -- (At least six years of relevant work experience in lieu of a specific degree would be acceptable)
  • At least two years of experience as a Test analyst

  • At least four years of hands-on QA test experience for enterprise-level software systems

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience developing Test Plans and Test Cases for both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom developed software.
  • Strong user knowledge and experience with testing in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with an ability to communicate to various audiences, including customers, other staff members, and management.
  • Ability to multitask with strong time management and organization skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently.

Desired Skills:

  • A solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) desired.

  • Prior experience as a software developer, DBA, business analyst, or systems analyst helpful.

  • Software testing certification, such as ISTQB, CAST, CETPA, etc., desired.

  • Experience working in an ITIL environment. (ITIL v3 certification highly desired.)

  • Understanding of ISO 9000/9001:2015 standards for quality management

  • Government contracting experience desired. Candidates with a current Public Trust security clearance highly preferred.

The successful candidate is subject to a U.S. Federal Government background investigation and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust or higher.
