Project Support Manager

Job Summary

Plans, manages, controls and executes events under the projects life cycle in support of the Strategic Business Area (SBA) upper management.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Supports and/or plans and organizes the management of a project or series of smaller projects or a definable piece of a larger program for successful completion and performance consistent with contractual requirements
    Provides technical assistance or manages a project for efficient and economical business
  • Supports Program Managers to ensure satisfactory completion of program objectives.
  • Manages controls and executes activities associated with the development of plans and exercises under a project contract.
  • Assists higher level program/project manager by assisting in development of comprehensive project plans to include both long and short range goals and milestones.
  • Designs and constructs Work Breakdown Schedules (WBS) to support programs, proposals and engineering projects.
  • Implements policies, practices and revisions to existing policies and practices as required to meet company, contracts and order requirements.
  • Recognizes and pursues changes in project scope and/or workload.
  • Acts as a point-of-contact for project matters relating to contract for representative between customers, users and DynCorp management team.
  • Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction by quality on-time performance and best return for their investment.
  • Provides status to upper management of project and approaches on solution to problems of the project.
  • Researches, locates and qualifies subcontractors and team mates to provide needed services.
  • Coordinates with subcontractors for payment of invoices including verification of charges to release payments.
  • Supports Programs, Engineering and Business Development in the design of project schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of the functions and operations of major U.S. Military Commands.
  • Complete understanding of project of assigned contract.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance/engineering processes.
  • Attention to details and ability to handle multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (ex. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) and MS Project.

Experience & Education

  • Ten (10) years experience within the last 15 years in a managerial position related to aircraft management and material support.
  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline is highly preferred.
