Project Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager to support initiatives and projects for a customer supporting multiple Enterprise wide desktop infrastructure projects.  As a Project Manager, you will have hands on experience employing an Agile/DevOps framework and oversee and manage projects from their inception through project closeout review, coordinating with all stakeholders, and helping the customer adopt the Agile/DevOps methodology.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Managing one or more small teams of 4 to 10 FTEs to develop and implement systems, applications, and solutions for a diverse customer base spanning multiple web sites and platforms
  • Establishing goals and objectives for the team(s), running day-to-day operations for the assigned projects and potentially other projects across the division, developing and maintaining schedules, and handling team/personnel issues
  • Actively participating in hiring/retention activities to backfill and rotate positions by working closely with recruiters and technical team members to conduct interviews and source candidates, and working with the customer to manage staffing requirements, tradeoffs, and expectations
  • Working with branch-level project managers and systems engineers to obtain latest status on project progress, dependencies, risks, action items, and providing weekly program status reports to stakeholders
  • Working with team leads to contribute inputs for regular Program Management Reviews (PMRs).
  • Creating project documentation, including but not limited to, Control Gate briefings, MOAs, SSPs, Requirements, FAQs, etc.
  • Providing high level program management governance and oversight for the customer’s high priority projects and programs
  • Developing and managing the Integrated Master Schedule for the customer’s high priority programs to track milestones, control gates, and deployments
  • Developing and maintaining project management documentation and status briefings
  • Identifying and tracking program risks and action items to closure
  • Serving as contract POC to address customer concerns regarding team performance

You will have experience with the following:

  • 8+ years’ experience in project management
  • Experience managing engineering projects following Agile/DevOps methodology
  • Familiarity supporting infrastructure projects
  • Experience executing staffing plans, working closely with customer to manage tradeoffs, identifying creative ways to backfill positions, hiring, recruiting, and retention processes
  • Must possess experience in managing at least a ten (10) person team
  • Experience building and maintaining schedules in Microsoft Project
  • Familiarity with running systems engineering / systems administration teams
  • Solid understanding of governance and working in tandem with a government customer
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Experience creating and maintaining project management documentation and presentations
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be comfortable briefing team members, customers, and senior management
  • PMP Certification

   You will have one of the following:

  • 12 Years of job related experience and a High School/GED diploma
  • 10 Years of job related experience and an Associate’s degree
  • 8 Years of job related experience and a Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6 Years of job related experience and a Master’s degree
  • 4 Years of job related experience and a Doctorate

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • ITIL Certification
  • Knowledge of the Project Management Framework (PMF)
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Citrix, VMWare, VDI, AWS is a plus
