Project Manager

Job Description

As a Project Manager, you will conduct team lead planning and direct and coordinate projects and systems engineering efforts in a cyber environment.  You will be responsible for performing day-to-day management and working with the customer and others to develop and mature long-term and strategic objectives, to ensure that end user requirements will be satisfied in future years of the contract.  As a PM, you should be comfortable in working in a fast-paced, autonomous IT security focused team environment.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Performing day-to-day personnel and technical management of engineering staff, as appropriate
  • Performing both horizontal and vertical integration planning, and will interface with other functional areas
  • Ensuring technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner
  • Providing supervision, training, and direction to staff.
  • Meeting contractual performance criteria and due dates during service delivery and successful overall project completion
  • Coordinating activities in support of Project activities and teams that support the provisioning, design, installation, maintenance, and tracking and monitoring requirements through completion preparing finished deliverables (e.g. status reports to Sponsor, management, open issues).
  • Analyzing workflow amongst project arears and work with the customer in establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Helping improve efficiencies across the enterprise
  • Ensuring high-quality and acceptable project and engineering efforts are completed by the team
  • Ensuring success of Branch and engineering personnel

You will bring:

  • Experience working in a dynamic and collaborative environment
  • Extensive experience in the following applications:
  • MS Project Schedule
  • Developing PowerPoint presentations
  • MS Visio
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Implementing the customer Project Management Framework and Project Control Gates processes
  • Working with the Branch Lead and project managers to ensure personnel have the appropriate knowledge/skills to perform the assigned tasks
  • Elevating issues to the Branch Lead and documenting issues, as appropriate
  • Providing input to PMRs and ad hoc reports, as required
  • Providing input to weekly reports and quarterly capabilities briefings
  • Understanding the customer’s mission and requirements
  • Establishing and maintaining a close working relationship with customer technical staff
  • Excellent working relationships with customer and all partners
  • Ensuring senior management are always informed of appropriate activities and issues (early and frequently)
  • Leading your team and ensuring a high performance
  • Staying abreast of advances in technology and processes

You will have one of the following:

  • 12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
  • 10 Years of job related experience and Associate degree
  • 8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
  • 4 Years of job related experience and a Doctorate

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience with:
  • Collaborating and conducting outreach activities across IT and Cyber organizations
  • Collecting, ingesting, analyzing, and visualizing machine data with Splunk
  • Splunk dashboards and creating queries
  • Splunk Enterprise Security App
  • Working and collaborating with Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT)
  • Familiarity working with COTS related security application suites (McAfee, Symantec, etc.)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
