About the Project Manager - Americas Integration Center

The Global Integration Center (GIC), a rapidly growing segment of HPE managing the delivery of custom and complex support solutions to HPE customers globally, is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our team in Chippewa Falls, WI. No relocation assistance available.

In this role, working as an integral part of the GIC team within HPE’s Pointnext Global Supply Chain organization, you will take on Project Management responsibilities in an existing Project Management Office for a customer’s global support program. You will be responsible for leading and communicating status of the factory build and test of complex solutions, as well as for management and coordination of all value chain partners and resources for a high quality solution delivered on time and meeting customer commitments.

You will work on-site at HPE’s location in Chippewa Falls, WI. As the GIC Integration Project Manager and with other members of the Delivery value chain, including the Houston Supply Chain partners, procurement, and Logistics. You will work closely with our customers and these internal teams to ensure effective and timely delivery. 

  

This is a dynamic environment which will require you to be efficient with time management and have solid leadership skills.

You will often be required to shift your work schedule to work outside of normal business hours in order to keep abreast of customer and project requirements. As a result, work schedule flexibility is required.

Position may require some overnight travel.  It is not expected to exceed 10%, but will vary depending on the needs of the business.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your expertise on the products we deliver and support, while further developing your expertise with HPE and PMI project methodology, which can lead to future careers within HPE.

Responsibilities

As the Project Manager—GIC, you will:

  • manage small and medium fairly straightforward customer project and program delivery, typically local in scope
  • lead regular project and program reviews delivered to HPE management and project/program stake holders
  • provide reliable solution forecasts and expected completion dates for various stages of the solution to HPE Services management and stakeholders
  • manage business development
  • identify and develop new opportunities on current project or program
  • support qualification and opportunity assessment for small straightforward opportunities
  • act as opportunity manager for low-risk deals
  • manage client relationships
  • manage first- to mid-level client delivery relationships
  • represent the organization to external customers/clients as required or directed by Project Management lead
  • manage project team when required
  • manage a small team of internal as well as external resources when required
  • encourage skill development of project team members as required
  • provide performance feedback for team members as required
  • delivery or opportunity management with impact on HPE Services revenue
  • work on a development plan leading to higher PM skills
  • participate in the HPE Program Manager (PM) Professions community
  • perform other duties as needed or assigned

Requirements

This position requires a highly motivated person who has good leadership potential coupled with experience in Project management. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator and able to influence people across a broad range of organizations both internally and externally.

Your technical background will be a plus, as these solutions often require high-level understanding of the various components and platforms used in complex solutions. Industry knowledge of complex solutions is preferred but not required.

You will be required to work on-site at HPE’s location in Chippewa Falls, WI. No relocation assistance available.

Work schedule flexibility is required. You will often be required to shift your work schedule to work outside of normal business hours in order to keep abreast of customer and project requirements.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, ideally in a technical discipline
  • 3+ years’ relevant experience in project management, ideally working on IT rollouts such as servers, storage, networking and other enterprise technologies
  • Without an Associate’s or higher level degree, 1 additional year of project management experience required, for a total of 4+ years relevant experience
  • 3+ years demonstrated customer-facing experience
  • CAPM certification preferred, or on track to obtain PMP certification ideal
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative approaches and solutions to solve client problems  

Knowledge and Skills Preferred

  • Basic industry knowledge/understanding  of the complex solutions market
  • Basic understanding of IT industry factory integration for complex solutions and the benefits to customers
  • Federal Security Clearance of any level would be a plus

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Flexibility to shift daily or weekly schedules as required to align with project timeline demands
  • Solid basic capabilities with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Demonstrates a basic knowledge of key operational policies, processes and methodologies applicable to proje ct management
  • Proven customer relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to implement innovative approaches and solutions to solve client problems 
  • Proven self-starter
  • On a development plan leading to higher PM skills
