Project Manager (Delivery Manager)

Description

The Civilian Market Customer Group of SAIC is seeking a highly qualified Project Manager to lead a staff of 25-60 IT personnel on a large federal Information Technology (IT) contract in Albuquerque, NM. The Project Manager will be required to work as part of a program management team consisting of a Program Manager, five other Project Managers, a Business Manager, and an Administrative Assistant.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the operational and tactical activities of individuals responsible for the delivery of information processing and telecommunications services
  • Establishes objectives and plans for the team’s operations; identifies and assembles the optimal combination of personnel, technologies, and methodologies to meet current and near-term requirements
  • Translates organizational objectives into work plans
  • Creates contingency plans to meet changes in business circumstances. 
  • Position will perform a wide variety of functions as needed to help the team deliver successful results.
 

The position will work closely with the government technical leadership, customer organizations, and the SAIC Program Manager. The duties will include interfacing with the customer organizations, meeting technical and schedule requirements, directing and/or supervising personnel, risk management, and serving as a liaison between the SAIC technical team and the customer.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and 10 or more years of work experience or 14 years of professional work experience in lieu of degree; OR Master’s degree from an accredited institution and 8 years or more of professional work experience; OR PhD from an accredited institution and 2 years or more of professional work experience.  

  • Two + years of management experience overseeing IT personnel and projects.

  • Broad IT knowledge including software development, system integration, infrastructure and support.

  • Experience establishing best practice guidelines and standardizing processes.

  • Experience mentoring and training staff.

  • Experience building, using and maintaining consistent processes both technical and people focused.

  • Experience producing and monitoring performance reports

  • Knowledge of service management processes and tools

  • Knowledge of IT equipment handling, storing and disposal

  • Able to obtain a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality deliverables created through collaboration including technical and process documentation.

  • Excellent analytical skills to uncover root causes to issues.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Candidate must be local to Albuquerque, NM area, or willing to relocate to Albuquerque area.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Department of Energy or Department of Defense clearance experience highly desired.

  • ITIL certification
  • PMP certification
 

Security clearance requirement: Candidate can start uncleared but must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) Q Clearance.  Active DOE L,Q or Department of Defense (DOD) Top Secret/Secret is desired.
