Project Engineer, Targets and Countermeasures


  • Research responses to data calls and actions
  • Assemble technical data for routine and special reporting
  • Track and status on-going technical activities
  • Review Prime Contractor proposals, plans, activities and deliverables for sound technical approaches that meet requirements within the program schedule
  • Review and assess technical data (specifications, analyses, test plans/reports)
  • Provide recommendations towards resolving and/or preventing technical issues and risk assessment
  • Monitor, assess and status Prime Contractor preparations and Objective Evidence in support of major milestone reviews (e.g. SRRs, PDRs, CDRs)Redston
  • Review ground and flight test objectives, data requirements and data analysis methodologies
  • Represent the interests of the customer in Failure Review Boards, Working Groups, Integrated Product Teams, Engineering Review Boards, Material Review Boards and Technical Interchange Meetings
  • Identify and contribute to the resolution of complex engineering issues that can involve multiple engineering functional areas
  • Participate in developing strategic project plans and approaches
  • Develop briefings and decision packages for MDA Leadership
  • Assist the TC CE in day-to-day activities for coordinating target engineering group activities
  • Travel to contractor and test locations CONUS/OCONUS (approximately 10% travel)

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A BS in Engineering or related Technical Degree and 15+ years related experience with missile and space component/system design, test and evaluation
  • Must have an active "Secret" security clearance
  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency, Ballistic Missile Defense System, and/or Targets and Countermeasures (TC) Program Offices is desired
  • Capability to develop and present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel
  • Familiarity with acquisition and systems engineering processes
  • Demonstrated abilities to work well with the team and in a fast-paced environment
  • Technical proposal evaluation
  • Experience with Microsoft tools (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly grasp management needs, develop plans of action and implement those plans to provide required responses to meet those needs

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Secret clearance.
