Program Security Specialist

Key Role: 
Serve as an on-site matrixed security specialist. Assist with orchestrating protective measures to safeguard BMDS information from loss, compromise, or unauthorized disclosure and to protect an agency's workforce, facilities, and infrastructure from threats and the effects of natural disasters. Analyze and administer security programs and procedures for classified programs or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment in accordance with agency and DoD policies. Analyze the preparation of instructions, standard operating procedures, and fixed facility checklists outlining regulations and analyze procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records and granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. Serve as the site's Operations Security (OPSEC) representative, conduct assessments, and provide OPSEC awareness briefings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience with DoD security and program protection
  • Knowledge of DoD security and program protection operations
  • Knowledge of the DoD and major systems or programs
  • Top Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree or 13 years of experience with security in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
  • Ability to be an independent, proactive, and professionally assertive self-starter who can engage with and resolve challenging situations
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • BA or BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics preferred

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
