Program/Project Manager

Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:  
SAIC is seeking a Senior Manager at our Washington, DC location to support to the Program Executive Office Submarines (PEO SUB) Program Offices by performing programmatic and logistics functions. 

 Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Support the overall planning, direction and success of technical programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives that supports PEO SUB support of the warfighter. 
  • Manage large, multi-year efforts programs and tasks that support the developing and sustaining undersea weapons program. 
  • Responsible for the overall program definition, organization, and direction of short and long range plans. 
  • Establish and control technical milestones, schedules, budgets within the technical approach to systems and weapons development. 
  • Perform technical and engineering management functions to technically support development of new and existing Naval capabilities and systems. 
  • Support management of technical resources, technical data, and manpower and personnel.
  • Prepare and implements directives to ensure effective engineering technical support, and establishes and enforces standards to ensure the assigned work force is properly trained and equipped. 
  • Develop formal correspondence and reports. 

Qualifications

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active secret security clearance or the ability to obtain
Required Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's level degree in any technical or managerial discipline. 
  • 15 years professional experience including program/project management. 
Desired: 
  • 10 or more years of experience with Navy acquisition and/or In-Service Programs. Knowledge of Program Management, including the acquisition process, execution of Gate/Milestone Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Production Reviews. 
  • Knowledge of the budgeting process and financial tracking Earned Value Management (EVM) and other metrics), funding execution, and the contracting process.
