Rincon Research Corporation seeks a Program Manager for electronics hardware and software development contracts. This position acts with a large degree of independence and has responsibility for delivering customer satisfaction and maintaining the reputation of the company. The Program Manager benefits from some support staff but also must be willing and able to perform disparate tasks which may include system engineering, financial spreadsheet manipulation, and documentation.

What are the primary responsibilities in the Program Manager position?

The Program Manager is responsible for all phases of the contract lifecycle including proposal development, staffing, development of plans and schedules, project management and control, conducting formal tests, financial management and forecasting, project reviews, quality, customer relationships, reporting to customers and RRC management, and long term product support.  The Program Manager can also be responsible for one or more projects which may or may not be interrelated and may or may not serve the same customer. 

What required background will make you successful?

• B.S. or higher in engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics.
• At least 4 years’ experience managing electronics and/or software development projects
• At least 5 years as an engineer or developer in at least one of the following fields: Electronic hardware design, DSP design, FPGA implementation, RF system design and performance specifications, high speed networks, software development.
• Experience in creating plans and schedules
• Experience building and leading technical teams
• Experience in resource and financial forecasting
• Experience writing proposals
• Comfort with agile development methods in a dynamic environment
• Comfort with formal waterfall project management
• Proven ability to cooperate with customers and deliver high quality results
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
• US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Preferred skills:

• M.S. or higher in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics (counts for 2 years of experience)
• B.S. or higher in business administration
• Professional certification in project management
• Understanding of Earned Value Management
• Experience writing or analyzing requirements and test documentation
