Program Manager, Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD)

The Program Manager, Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) will report to the Director of Advanced Air Dominance Programs (AADP) within the Advanced Air Warfare Systems and Technology (AAWS&T) Directorate. The NGAD Program Manager will work closely with the AADP Director to develop execution strategies, establish directorate goals, and plan development and integration of core NGAD weapon programs. Advanced NGAD systems include future Air-to-Air, Strike, Anti-Surface and Self-Defense weapon concepts and related technologies. He/she will develop and maintain collaborative and responsive internal relationships with peers across RMS product lines, as well as key strategic external partnerships with other defense aerospace companies.

This position is also responsible for collaborating with and shaping the development of strategic AMS IR&D programs for future Air Dominance weapons. The NGAD Program Manager is responsible for working across other Raytheon Business Units to ensure company success in developing and executing customer focused weapon solutions for Next Generation Aircraft and for identifying and shaping new programmatic opportunities within customer communities. This position will represent the portfolio to senior-level customers and company leadership.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Align AAWS&T Programs to long-range Air Dominance pursuits by merging AMS technical development and customer requirements into a sustained business strategy
  • Work with DOD resource sponsors, acquisition customers and senior leadership to help shape DOD requirements and funding plans for future NGAD weapon systems
  • Collaborate with other Raytheon Business Units to ensure a “One Raytheon” NGAD strategy.
  • Identify long-term strategic product line opportunities for the NGAD mission area, aligning with Business Development managers to develop and manage capture strategies
  • Develop relationships across Raytheon, industry, customers, subcontractors and teammates, and with the appropriate government agencies as required
  • Coordinate various NBI efforts across the portfolio in close collaboration with program managers, ensuring efficient management of new business investment (NBI) resources
  • Actively participate across the Advanced Missile Systems product line in related gate reviews, color teams and strategic planning activities
  • Perform technical assessments and support other technology development teams as needed.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 12+ years of demonstrated related work experience, preferably with significant Defense or Government acquisition experience
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience influencing decisions across all organizational levels
  • Strong technical background in requirements development, weapon system design and air dominance mission areas.
  • Active Secret Clearance eligible for compartmented material access, background check within the last 5 years with eligibility to obtain Top Secret status

Desired Skills:
  • Strong technical background in System Engineering, Test and Evaluation and/or Program Management of developmental weapon systems
  • Demonstrated networking capabilities among various communities, e.g. acquisition officials/leads in the Department of Defense and other government agencies
  • Experience working with Federal acquisition processes
  • High situational awareness and demonstrated experience working multiple projects simultaneously with diverse groups and customers

Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business, or other related field

Desired Education:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred
