Program Manager, #4351

LinQuest Corporation is seeking a Program Manager to join our team at Vandenberg AFB.

 

You will work on the systems engineering and integration (SE&I) contract in support of the US Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Launch Enterprise Systems Directorate (SMC/LE).  This effort includes overarching integration of launch and range programs which will require interfacing with both the EELV and any future SMC/LE launch systems.

 

SMC/LE is the guardian of assured access: launching when and where the nation needs it. SMC/LE's vision statement is to be the most respected and innovative space lift team, delivering mission success while enabling a robust U.S. launch industry This capability provides assured access to space for the nation. SMC/LE's mission also includes mission assurance and launch safety. 

 

The position is full time on-site at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) and requires an active TS/SCI clearance.  You will work onsite, co-located and closely integrated with the Government Customer.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the staffing and execution of the LE Systems Engineering and Integration (SSEI) effort at VAFB across the various elements of the PWS (Systems Engineering, Integration, Mission Assurance, Launch support, Safety and Environmental engineering, Systems security, launch site training)
  • Serve as on-site government liaison for contractor personnel, priorities, contract performance, and adherence to the PWS
  • Work with the prime (LinQuest is a subcontractor on this team) to understand position requirements and fill positions based on those requirements
  • Drive execution against program requirements once personnel are on-board
  • Interact and collaborate with the USAF customer set on site to ensure their needs are satisfied
  • Ensure customer-service standards are maintained; resolving problems
  • Prepare for and participate in regular program meetings (weekly tagups, management reviews, technical review boards, readiness assessments, etc.)
  • Preparing and completing action plans; government and company reports
  • Interface and collaborate with teammates on all program issues
  • LinQuest up-channel reporting as necessary
  • Responsible for communicating job expectations and company expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
  • Contribute information and recommendations to LinQuest company operating plans and reviews

Required Skills:

  • Previous experience as a lead/supervisor (3-5 years) – ability to form team of individuals to accomplish staffing and execution of programs
  • Understanding of technical areas necessary to support space, ground, and launch programs
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Highly organized individual, capable of handling multiple competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Clear and concise written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, recommendations and options to the customer
  • Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders/customers from DoD agencies to commercial industry
  • Knowledgeable in the use and application of MS Office suite – specifically project, word and excel

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Participation in launch readiness assessments and mission rehearsals at VAFB
  • Ability to work in a constrained environment, under pressure with multiple deadlines and deliverables
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Practical experience with writing Job Requisitions, and hiring and staffing open positions

 

Required Experience: 

  • BS degree in electrical or mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline
  • 12+ years of relevant program management experience in space system and/or launch process
  • Work with FFRDC personnel (e.g., Aerospace Corporation)
  • Detail oriented and the ability to organize, prioritize and address multiple program schedules simultaneously
  • Ability to learn and adapt to the use of new tools that may be used in future LE activities
  •  Preferred Experience:
  • MS in electrical or mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline
  • Participation in USAF launch readiness certification and assessments
  • Experience with DoD or USAF space system acquisition
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this position
