Program Director

       

PAE has an opening for a Program Director within PAE’s National Security Solutions business unit, supporting the Business Process Solutions (BPS) business area. Reporting to the BPS leader, the Program Director will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing the total work effort under a large services program within the federal/civil space in accordance with the applicable Statement of Work. The Program Director will be responsible for the management of contractor personnel at all government assigned locations and resolving any issues related to performance on the contract. The Director shall represent PAE in all matters related to program operations and shall serve as the primary operational interface to the customer, attending regularly scheduled meetings and ad hoc meetings as needed. The Director shall manage program cost, schedule, performance, staffing and daily production on the contract. 

The Director will ensure that contractor personnel are operating sites efficiently and effectively in all areas and that the program is meeting quality standards and achieving customer satisfaction and mission success. The Director will supervise the Deputy Program Manager who will in turn have supervisory responsibilities for the field management team. The Director will be responsible for the completion of major deliverables to the customer and will be responsible for the submission of timely, thorough and accurate reports. The Program Director will prepare management, business, technical and personnel reports, reviews and documents for internal and external use.

The Program Director must be comfortable managing and coordinating efforts within a matrix organization. The Program Director will liaise with multiple functional teams to ensure the program is adequately staffed for the mission, is financially sound, and is in full compliance with all contractual requirements. The Program Director will work closely with the Deputy Program Manager on operational issues. S/he will implement appropriate controls to prevent and detect instances of fraud and will ensure that the program operates in accordance with PAE’s high ethical standards. The Director shall maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with the customer and PAE subcontractors. 

This individual must have excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated experience proactively addressing operational concerns and issues, monitoring overall customer satisfaction, analyzing training needs/requirements, and implementing operational efficiencies is required. At least 3+ years of experience leading diverse teams to foster customer service, innovative solutions, risk management and proactive communication is also required. The Director candidate must demonstrate the ability to make good decisions and respond to high-pressure situations, as well as time management skills to plan, manage, and coordinate the efforts of a large team of multiple staff over a sustained period of time.

Primary work location is Ashburn, VA but significant travel to domestic and international sites may be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration/Management, Project Planning/Project Management, Finance/Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience managing the implementation, execution, and oversight of government contract programs similar in size, scope and complexity
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance, continuous improvement principles and methodologies
  • Ability to travel domestically and international as needed
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • English language proficiency
  • Ability to work with details and time-sensitive issues
  • Experience and proficiency with a variety of office software to include MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Share Point

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Secret clearance
  • Advanced degree in related field
