Program Analyst (Mid-level)

We’re seeking a Program Control Analyst for a full time position within the Department of Defense (DoD) providing analytical and administrative support to an Assistant Secretary of Defense-level office. Candidates must possess a strong background and proven history in supporting senior-level DoD officials and advising on critical issues facing the Department or other government agencies. This requires someone with strong analytical skills, who is detail oriented, possesses problem solving abilities, and can thrive in a cross-functional setting. Actual work location may include the Pentagon, or other government location.

Primary Responsibilities & Functions:

  • Develop and implement procedures to improve coordination and situational awareness among component organizations
  • Conduct detailed investigative research, data collection and summarize for senior government officials’ use
  • Work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple issues with evolving requirements
  • Notify appropriate staff of their respective assignments, and monitor progress to assist in their timely completion using Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) tracking tools
  • Monitor congressional issues that influence the office, including:
    • Responding to all tasks that relate to Congressional issues or questions
    • Identifying issues that require proactive engagement with key Congressional staff, and recommend assignment of related responsibilities within the office or component.
    • Manager of scorecards for Freedom Information Act, Government Affairs Office, NDAA Statutory Requirements, Office of Legislative Council tasks
  • Develop effective communications with all internal components and other OSD organizations

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

Must hold an Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (Active SCI adjudicated by the Defense Intelligence Agency is preferred)

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with seven to nine years of Executive Support or related experience
  • Proven track record with DoD acquisition, systems engineering and program management support across multiple programs and portfolios
  • Expertise in DoD roles and missions, and organizational structure
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Innovative and fresh thinking with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to manage and prioritize numerous concurrent assignments
  • Organized individual, with prioritization and time management skills
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen

Experience Required
