Production Hardware Integrated Product Team Lead

This opening is to fill a position within the Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) division Hardware Engineering Support to Manufacturing group. A person in this role is expected to be the lead investigator for the optimization and/or resolution of production issues related to RF/Antenna circuit designs. The individual must have extensive technical expertise in the design and production of RF designs from the AEHF system level, to include antennas, down to circuit card level. In addition to technical depth this individual must have demonstrated Engineering leadership skills to lead technical teams, conduct peer reviews, and establish/monitor/report key technical performance measures for the production phase.

Specific duties will include:
  • Performing design and supplier trade studies
  • Evaluating and updating specifications for the hardware
  • Generation and release of a technical documentation for components and subassemblies
  • Performing and participation in critical design reviews
  • Conducting design performance and margin analysis
  • Establishing production test strategy and performing test coverage analysis
  • Integration and test activities in a hardware/software laboratory and production environment
  • Lead and/or support transition of design to production
  • Support of configuration control and membership on Configuration Control Board (CCB)
  • Supplier technical support and issue resolution
  • Obsolescence review, resolution, and design refresh
  • Analyze, problem solve, and multi-task to meet deadlines working in a team environment with multiple disciplines
  • Generating schedules and monitoring and reporting earned value
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities
  • Communicating technical status and performance to Chief Engineer and Program Manager
  • Occasional travel

Required Skills:
  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience, including technical leadership
  • Excellent design and/or analysis skills in communications, radar, EW or other closely related systems experience
  • Experience in transition to production
  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills; technical writing
  • Excellent skills in technical team leadership
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience, including technical leadership
  • Extensive experience in transitioning designs into production and performance optimization in production phase
  • Existing Secret clearance
