Product Manager

Description:

Leidos is looking for an experienced Product Manager, who is passionate about building exceptional products for our customers. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products meeting customer requirements and addressing market needs.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps, conduct market analysis, and generate new ideas for the addressable market, to grow new markets, improve customer experience and drive revenue growth

• Develop the core positioning, future vision, and messaging for the product line

• Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

• Develop product pricing and positioning strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals. Maintain product pricing lists.

• Monitor and ensure accuracy of internal reporting systems to include business development tracking, quote generation, and financial systems

• Deliver a monthly revenue forecast

• Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes

• Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact

• Drive product launches including working with corporate marketing, line management, and other necessary teams

• In conjunction with associated program managers, develop and propose an annual product plan to include financial goals, a technical roadmap, and schedule for achievement

• Influence cross-functional teams without formal authority with the goal to drive product content and schedule with the goal to optimize revenue and market impact.

• In conjunction with associated program managers, develop high level and detailed project plans for each project.  Oversee the milestones to ensure that internal schedules align with key due dates.

• Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

• Develop comprehensive product presentations for external briefings and internal training purposes

• Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services

• Provide project leadership and technical direction for assigned staff. Evaluate and provide performance evaluation feedback to management.

• Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

• Maintain product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

• Maintain product management staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

• Support writing and review of proposals for the assigned products and related programs.


Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or Engineering. MBA highly desired with 5+ years of proven work experience in product management and/or product marketing with a focus on software products. Also, required is 2+ years of supervisory experience. Must have 15+ years of related technical experience.

• Demonstrated experience in growing sales for product lines.

• Ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management.

• Excellent written and verbal communicator with strong presentation skills up through executive level discussions.

• High proficiencies with Excel and PowerPoint are required.

• A fast problem solver, highly motivated and results-driven, with excellent time management and team working skills.

• An understanding of business process & the application of technology in achieving business objectives.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing projects in a fast-paced environment through strategic planning, prioritization, and task delegation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be able to travel up to 25%

 

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance is strongly preferred.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Understanding of Air Force and Army markets

• Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering.

• High Performance Computing software experience is a plus.

• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
