Principal Technical Planner

Raytheon is seeking an experienced business professional for the position of Principal Technical Planner in support of the Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) Global Intelligence Solutions (GIS) Mission Area, as a member of the Infrastructure Processing and Exploitation (IPX) team. This position will support the day-to-day management of budgets, workforce levels, and resource availability. Creates and maintains administrative documents and be responsible for dissemination of information via e-mail distribution, web updates and use of collaboration tools. Coordinates and maintains regular communications between customers and user organizations. Works collaboratively to define develop, review and document office and inter-office policies and procedures. Coordinates and facilitates regular meetings and conferences and visitor access. Works closely with the Government Program Offices to maintain current status of projects/events. Must have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.

The Principal Technical Planner will be responsible for supporting the program office and planning organizational needs.
  • Identify and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with program leadership to prioritize business and information needs
  • Proposal support activities
  • Coordinate with program leadership to support customer visit requests and other preparation for customer meetings
  • Assist leaders in creation and maintenance of the progress reports, metrics, and gates
  • Provide inputs on spend profile as necessary
  • Monitor project/task progress – identify issues and provide solutions to leadership
  • Willing to work in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Manage budgets, schedules, supporting QBD and metrics
  • Administer gates reviews
  • Administer action items
Required Skills:
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in finance or management / business administration.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed, fast paced, deadline driven organization with constantly changing priorities; with the ability to task and manage diverse teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage, respond efficiently and effectively to time-critical issues with competing / conflicting priorities
  • Advanced skills using MS Office; Excel, Powerpoint and Word, especially Excel pivot tables and VBA
  • Demonstrated success multi-tasking
  • Ability to take poorly defined objective, refine it to well understood success criteria for the objective and create well-constructed plans to achieve the objective
  • Detail orientated and capable of working in an autonomous environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and be able to seek assistance/information as required
  • Interpersonal and people skills
  • Oral and written communication skill
  • Familiarity with collaboration and meeting support tools
  • Experience interacting/collaborating with external parties, and geographically distributed teams

Desired Skills:
  • Ability to obtain Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Self-Starter with experience taking initiative as necessary
  • Experience with dealing with contract
  • Experience with Raytheon PMX management tools (BCR, SWA, VAR, Risk Register, Web Status, ELF)

B.S. in Finance, Management, or a similar degree of education, or equivalent additional work experience may substitute for a degree. Masters preferred.

Travel may be required.
