Principal Systems Engineer - program coordination



Job Description:
This WLED section is responsible for all aspects of reliability, maintainability and sustainability of specific fielded sub systems within the Integrated Defense Systems business area.

The section’s objective is to provide technical analysis of system test data in support of the program reliability and maintainability concept, logistics support to the maintenance facilities around the world, full time on-site support at one CONUS maintenance facility, and on-site support for other facilities as-required.

In this position, you will be responsible for the coordination and execution of program tasking in accordance with program cost, schedule, and technical requirements. Tasking includes, but is not limited to: coordinating technical support to assure Customer Satisfaction; provide back-up technical support to Customer Depots around the world when on-site technical personnel cannot resolve problems; propose changes to Depot hardware and software based upon obsolescence/upgrades/updates to factory test equipment and procedures; maintain configuration at the Depots as required by approved changes to the hardware/software associated with the system and test equipment; update, validate, and distribute Depot operational procedures as well as initiate, validate and distribute new procedures as program needs and system changes require; provide training for Depot personnel on upgraded equipment; and modify Depot equipment and software as a result of approved Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).

You will work under consultative direction in providing data driven recommendations and solutions to the customer covering a wide range of technical subjects including, electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, hydraulic, energy, and test systems, as well as, associated documentation and training.

You will serve as the organization spokesperson and advisor to management and customers for all program Technical Support requirements and be required to provide technical briefings to large audiences including customers.

This position requires periodic travel (approximately 4-5 times annually) to continental U.S. locations for up to one week at a time.

Additionally, the opportunity to travel to various Patriot partner nations around the globe in support of critical systems reliability.

Required Skills:
  • Eight (8+) years’ experience in a hardware engineering role in assembly, disassembly, reliability and maintenance of complex aerospace systems
  • Experience assessing Reliability and Maintainability performance of fielded equipment
  • Existing Confidential Clearance
  • Experience with MSOffice tools
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and customer requests in a fast paced operations environment
  • Develop and provide technical presentations to large audiences including the U.S. and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers
  • Experience with System assembly, disassembly and test
  • Understanding and wide application of engineering experience
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting System level Test equipment
  • Understanding of EVMS and its implementation
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Experience with Oracle databases and Sequel Queries
  • Experience presenting to audiences of 20+
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related engineering discipline

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
