Principal Systems Engineer

The TACTICAL COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS (TCS) Engineering Department is involved in all aspects of Systems Design and Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for the TCS business area within the Integrated Communications System (ICS) business area of Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems.

ICS enables information dominance through integrated network solutions that span the radio-to-visible spectrum. The systems engineering we perform within TCS includes architecture development, CONOPS development, trade studies, requirements analysis and allocation to hardware/software configuration items, and integration validation and verification. The Department supports a variety of communications systems programs including SATCOM, line-of-sight (LOS), beyond line-of sight (BLOS) and MANET networking for ground based, shipboard and airborne platforms.

JOB SUMMARY
We have a need on the TCS team for a Principal Systems Engineer - ABP I&V Test Coordinator that will liaise and lead requirements verification planning, environmental test equipment preparation & set-up, and the integration & test of airborne processor modules in support of Qualification and Safety of Flight Certifications for the F-16 MMC and other SAS Airborne Processors Development Programs.

The Modular Mission Computer (MMC) provides airborne processing power that will allow the F-16 to execute mission requirements well into the 21st century. As a member of Lockheed Martin's F-16 team, Raytheon developed a single high-performance system to replace the fighter jet's three original computers. The MMC's advanced features — and potential for expansion — enable the F-16 to meet present and future mission challenges.

Detailed analysis of the environmental test data will be used as the basis for qualification and safety of flight certifications prepared and submitted to the USAF and military aircraft prime contractors.
