Principal/Sr. Principal Cloud/VMWare Engineer

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Cloud/VMWare Engineer based out of Redondo Beach, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

You will create and maintain cloud and VM environments and infrastructure using AWS GovCloud, OpenStack and VMware. Implementations will need to meet requirements and ensure smooth and efficient operations for user support. Coordinating provisioning requests and troubleshooting the integration points between AWS, OpenStack and VMware. Additional tasks could include RHEL OS installations, kick-start, COTS configurations, and NIS/LDAP, and Windows configuration. Install and support Open Source applications as needed for user support. Use Linux/Windows to support installation and maintain configurations, working with vendors to solve issues, research technical problems and work complex issues.

This requisition may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal level based on qualifications listed below.

Position is contingent upon final SCI access.

This requisition may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal level based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline with 5 years applicable work experience; Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years applicable work experience; or a total of 9 years of applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Current SCI access or current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access by start date
  • Strong knowledge of system administration principles, concepts, and techniques
  • Experience with computing environment operations and sustainment
  • Experience with real-time operational environment
  • Experience working with vendors and facilities personnel
    Knowledge of networking and computer security processes
  • Current Cyber Security Certification or ability to obtain Cyber Security Certification

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline with 9 years applicable work experience; Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years applicable work experience; PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years applicable work experience; or a total of 13 years of applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Current SCI access or current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access by start date.
  • Strong knowledge of system administration principles, concepts, and techniques
  • Experience with computing environment operations and sustainment
  • Experience with real-time operational environment
  • Experience working with vendors and facilities personnel
  • Knowledge of networking and computer security processes
  • Current Cyber Security Certification or ability to obtain Cyber Security Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge and experience with other trending technologies such as Docker, Ansible, DevOps.
  • Experience with Linux, network protocols and firewalls, Network Appliance IOS and storage, and implementation of Open Source applications in secure environment is a plus.
  • Scripting experience
  • Current SCI security access
  • Security+ or CISSP certification
