Principal Software Engineer

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
Essential Functions:
  • Interface with multidisciplinary Integrated Product Teams
  • Review, interpret, and analyze formal and informal requirements
  • Create test plans and procedures that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints
  • Executive test procedures to ensure requirement compliance
  • Perform troubleshooting as required
  • Document test results and create test reports as needed
  • Solve writing defects and perform component-to-component integration

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in software engineering OR
  • Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience developing software/writing code in C/C++
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience integrating and testing software subsystems
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience in production development programs using languages such as c, C++, Human Machine
  • Familiarity with safety/mission critical air worthiness test criteria
  • Familiarity with flight testing prerequisite criteria
  • Familiarity writing test scripts
  • Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite with add-ons like GIT and Confluence
  • Experience with Hardware Software Compatibility Matrix processes
  • Experience with Agile software development processes
