The Advanced Development team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Mechanical Engineer based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
The Advanced Development Group develops next generation solutions in payload integration in a maritime environment. Our products span the entire development cycle from what if studies to full up, end to end capability demonstrations. One day you may be conducting trade studies, the next day, modeling hardware or writing software, and the next conducting evaluation testing. It can be a dynamic environment.
We are looking for several engineers ready to take on some of the highest priority technical challenges facing our country. The ideal candidate enjoys working in an interactive collaborative team environment.

Basic Qualifications:
This position can be filled at a Principal or Senior Principal level.
Principal Engineer Mechanical
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and 5+ years of relevant work experience, or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline and 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Work experience with requirements development and flow down, and interface control and allocation
  • Work experience in conducting trade studies
  • Work experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Project, Word and PowerPoint
  • Current, active DoD Secret or DoE L clearance
Senior Principal Engineer Mechanical
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and 9+ years of relevant work experience, or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline and 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Work experience with requirements development and flow down, and interface control and allocation
  • Work experience in conducting trade studies
  • Work experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Project, Word and PowerPoint
  • Current, active DoD Secret or DoE L clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a research and development environment
  • Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS)
  • Agile methodology
  • Experience with DOORS ( or similar Systems Engineering Software)
  • Work experience with functional flows, concept of operations, N2 diagrams, and design notebooks development
