Principal Radar Engineer

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aPrincipal Radar Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on a development program at the Autonomous Systems Center of Excellence located in San Diego, CA.

As a RadarEngineer you will working under general direction of the Radar Responsible Engineer.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a technical contributor on the Radar subsystem team.
  • Support trade studies and hardware selection.
  • Perform hardware and software integration tasks in a laboratory environment.
  • Perform Radar subsystem analysis and system performance trade studies.
  • Understand, derive and maintain applicable system and subsystem requirements.
  • Author and release technical documents.
  • Perform as a focal point for analyzing data from laboratory and flight tests, and support formally verifying solution meets requirements.
  • Average travel for this position is 25%

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and5 years of Engineering experience or3 years with a Master's Degree.
  • Experience working with Radar systems.
  • Must have current active in-scope DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience working with Radar and payload systems
  • Experience tracking parts and equipment and interfacing with Global Supply Chain.
  • Experience developing and presenting technical change packages.
  • Experience with managing tasks and schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate across program level (management, chief engineers, engineers, and technical leads), and negotiate / integrate different viewpoints.
