Principal or Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (Advanced Digital Design) / Top Secret / SCI

Are you ready to join Northrop Grumman?If so,we are seekingaPrincipal Electrical Engineer (Advanced Digital Design) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

Youwill perform detailed circuit design of hardware, including flight part selection, schematic capture, and working with CAD personnel for part placement and signal routing. Responsibilities also include performing signal integrity analyses and documentation of the design in accordance with program requirements and institutional processes.

SpecificDuties include:

  • Design electronic circuits with digital and analogfunctionality for spacecraft applications.
  • Select components with suitable radiation qualities.
  • Interact with other team members andsoftware group to determine interfaces and operating characteristics.
  • Generate documentation and review packages for flight boards.
  • Test and debug boards.
  • Bench level verification of boardfunctionality.
  • Work either individually or as part of a team to developtest procedures and hardware to verify breadboards, engineering models,and flight units.
  • Work with fabrication team on board layout and build.
  • Define layout constraints and provide oversight to board layout personnel.
  • Support board through manufacturing of breadboards, engineering models,and flight units.
  • Support delivery of board to box-level assembly, includingtesting and debug.

Basic Qualifications:
This position may be hired as a level 3 or level 4 based on the qualifications below:

1. Level 3: 5 Years of direct experience with a Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with a Masters; 0 Years with a PhD.
Or Level 4: 9 Years of direct experience with a Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with a Masters; 4 Years with aPhD

2. Proven experience as a Digital Circuit board Designer
3. FPGA & Microprocessor Digital Design Experience
4. Signal Integrity, Worse Case Analysis Experience
5. Working knowledge of Printed Circuit Board Layout Guideline(s)
6. Working knowledge of cPCI Bus, 1553 Bus, Serial Communications Link, Synchronous Communication Links
7. Working knowledge of SERDES
8. Experience in the design, development, and testing of digital circuitry
9. Experience working as a member of a team, collaborating effectively with an integrated team of customers, vendors, users, and co-workers.
10. Ability to work independently, on a large team, and on concurrent tasks
11. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills
13. CurrentTS/SCI clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:
1. Current TS/SCI with CI Poly
2. Familiarity with spaceflight electronics development
